American Girl dolls get second life while supporting individuals with disabilities

Two local nonprofits have joined forces in a collaborative effort to give beloved dolls a second life with an initiative named "Girl Again."
The Rockland-based organization Bridges and the Westchester-based group Yes, She Can are working together to collect and refurbish gently used American Girl dolls and accessories for resale.
These dolls will be sold at Bridges, a boutique located on the second floor of the Palisades Center Mall, managed by the group that supports individuals with autism and disabilities.
"More and more nonprofits need to start collaborating, working together, in order for us to serve the most amount of people as possible," says Robin Davies-Small, Yes, She Can.
"And where there are folks out there, that are people with disabilities, that have a barrier of entry into the marketplace, where we can be of support and maybe a way in, we love to do that," says Carlos Martinez, CEO, Bridges.
