A Poughkeepsie man has been arrested after selling property he did not own.

Police say Alejandro Cabrera purported to be the owner of a rented trailer from a third-party rental company, posting it for sale online.

Cabrera collected multiple payments totaling over $3,000 from the victim, falsely promising to deliver the registration and title.

Cabrera later surrendered to officials on Sept. 21. He was charged with one count of grand larceny in the third degree.

He was then released with an appearance ticket for a future date.
