Two Town of Chester councilmen have called for an investigation into allegations that the town's supervisor may be abusing his power.
Both have called on the Orange County District Attorney to look into whether Supervisor Robert Valentine is using his position in an effort to show his own construction business favor.
Valentine responded in a statement posted to his Facebook page saying, "This is a ill-conceived publicity stunt by a councilman who lost a primary election to me and my competitor for Town Board from the opposing party."
He added, "The accusations are baseless and false, and I welcome any investigation."
