A federal judge says an anti-abortion group will not be allowed within 15 feet of any reproductive clinics in the Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island.

The preliminary injunction granted to the New York Attorney General's Office established a temporary buffer zone around hundreds of clinics across 13 downstate counties.

The purpose is to prevent "Red Rose Rescue" members from disrupting health care facilities.

Members of the pro-life organization have been charged with trespassing into private clinics and refusing to leave as they attempt to disuade women from having an abortion.

Several members were convicted of trespassing into a White Plains facility in 2021.

A spokesperson for "Red Rose Rescue" called the attorney general's legal challenge, "saturated with lies and exaggerations."

The group also says it plans to appeal.
