Efforts to move certain municipal elections to even-numbered years are on the brink of becoming law.
The bill sponsored by state Sen. James Skoufis (D-42) and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale) has landed on Gov. Kathy Hochul's desk.
If passed, the bill would shift most town, village, and county elections outside New York City to even-numbered years.

Gov. Hochul can either sign it into law, veto it, or let it become law without her signature ten days after it's delivered to her desk by the legislature.
