A Newburgh man has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison for the fatal stabbing of a 38-year-old last May.

Officials say 28-year-old Eric Mccollum stabbed Jose Soto during a verbal dispute on Broadway in Newburgh. Soto later died of his injuries.

Mccollum was arrested a few days later. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office says he pled guilty to manslaughter.
