Parts of Rockland County, including Stony Point and Piermont, experienced major flooding following Friday’s overnight storm.

In Piermont, firefighters answered calls from residents who needed help clearing their flooded basements.

Flood-prone Piermont and Stony Point bared the brunt of the heavy rain, which was only aggravated by high tides on the Hudson River.

Reilly's Public House Bar and Restaurant in Piermont is also prone to flooding. Owner Bernie Reilly used two hoses to remove water from the backyard in addition to the other measures that were already in place.

Despite the high tide, Reilly said he had two sump pumps going, so his business didn't get flooded.

Piermont Fire Department Chief Larry Cabrera said there were some homes impacted with chest high water during the high tide. He said firefighters worked between two to three hours with a pump to get it down to knee level.

Although Stony Point and Piermont experienced flooding, officials said no injuries were reported.
