Group of Westchester County police officers honored for saving man who went into cardiac arrest

Some Westchester County police officers received praise on Tuesday after helping save a man’s life during a scary medical emergency recently.

Some Westchester County police officers received praise on Tuesday after helping save a man’s life during a scary medical emergency recently.

A 58-year-old man went into cardiac arrest at a business on Hubbells Drive last week.

Someone nearby tried to do chest compressions but no response, which led to officers John Hecht, Michel Mignone and Francisca Menaez to immediately start CPR. Sergeant Timothy Hicks helped the officiers used a valve mask for air flow and use a automated external defibrillator.

EMS arrived shortly after and help the man regain a heartbeat and he was rushed to the hospital.

The man is doing well in the hospital tonight and should be going home this week.
