Demonstrators are asking for a 3.2% cost of living adjustment in the state budget for “direct support professionals.”
Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposed budget only includes a 1.5% adjustment, which they say is causing staffing problems.
The governor’s office says it looks forward to working with the Legislature on a budget that “serves the needs of all New Yorkers.”
