Greenburgh Town police: Female pedestrian critically injured in SUV crash

Detectives say it happened at the intersection of South Central and Marion avenues around 6 p.m.

Greenburgh Town police say a woman is in critical condition Sunday night after being struck by an SUV while crossing a street.

They say it happened at the intersection of South Central and Marion avenues around 6 p.m.

Police say the woman was taken to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition as of Sunday night.

Authorities closed a section of South Central Avenue in both directions during their investigation but had since reopened.

Detectives say the driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

No criminal charges had been filed as of Sunday night.

Greenburgh Town police say they are withholding the name and age of the victim while they notify family members.

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
