The Westchester chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence held its 21st annual luncheon on Friday afternoon to recognize the people and organizations who support the nonprofits mission.

News 12's Jonathan Gordon was among those honored for his years of reporting on alcoholism, drug-use disorder, the need for additional treatment resources and the triumphant stories of those in recovery.

Valley Spring Recovery Center CEO Brian Cellery, substance abuse case manager Linda James and licensed mental health counselor Dair Melendez-Drier also received awards.

“NCADD/Westchester Inc. remains committed to fighting the stigma of alcoholism and substance use disorders, and we are thankful for the ongoing support of so many who are dedicated to the work and mission as we continue to provide hope and a brighter future for individuals and families," Westchester's NCADD executive director Joan Bonsignore said.

The annual event helps the nonprofit raise money to continue advocating for alcoholism and substance-use disorder treatment and prevention.
