The Gran Fondo New York World Championship Bike Race brought riders through Rockland County on Sunday.

Organizers say the race "has become a Mecca for road cyclists around the world.”

The course began on the George Washington Bridge. It then took riders through the Palisades, up Route 9W and Mott Farm Road, and ended in Fort Lee, NJ.

Several spectators, like Jean-Claude Periac, posted up along the route to watch the race.

"The Gran Fondo is such an amazing race," he said. "We don't have any big events like this very often.”

Several police departments and government agencies are warning residents about traffic disruptions. Clarkstown police posted about affected roadways on Facebook.

Clarkstown Police advised the public about these intersections on their Facebook account.
