Greg Becker has been appointed as the new chief of the Stony Point Police Department, succeeding Chief Ed Finn in the role. Becker, a 20-year veteran of the department, most recently served as lieutenant.

Becker began his law enforcement career three decades ago with the New York Police Department. He was born, raised, and still resides in North Rockland.

"I'm very excited to take over this position," said Chief Becker. "It's an honor and a privilege. I look forward to serving the community alongside our dedicated and professional officers who keep this community safe."

Becker is the eighth chief in the department's history.
