Welles Remy Crowther, the "Man in the Red Bandana" who saved lives on 9/11, is being honored through a special tribute.

A 1-year-old black lab, Remy, named after Crowther, serves as Rockland County's first certified electronics detection dog, assisting Detective Tim Hayes.

Remy helps identify electronic devices with illegal content at crime scenes.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-17th District) recognized Crowther's heroism, saying, "Welles Remy Crowther was a hero. I'm glad the Rockland County District Attorney's Office recognized him in this way."
