The workforce has changed in New York, and some people are still looking for those "work from home" jobs.

Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "In the NYC area only about 11% of people report that they are not going into the office at all, more and more people actually are going in. Over 70%, that's higher than the tri-state area average. And that's higher definitely from last year and in 2021."

Silver says "workplace occupancy," meaning those big buildings being filled, in the New York City area is still less than 50%.

When it comes to where New York stacks up against other big cities Silver says, "NYC as a whole has a higher in-office occupancy rate than most metro areas around the U.S., including Philadelphia and Los Angeles."
