Vivek Malik, a student from the Hackley School in Tarrytown, has been named a finalist in the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search.
Malik will now compete against 39 other high school seniors from 16 states for a share of nearly $2 million in awards.
The competition includes a weeklong event from March 6 through March 12, where finalists will showcase their scientific research and undergo rigorous judging.
The announcement of the winners will take place on March 11 in Washington, D.C.
