President Donald Trump has withdrawn a Biden-era proposal to limit PFAS, also known as forever chemicals.
These chemicals are synthetic chemicals that are found nearly everywhere, including in drinking water. They've been linked to cancer, immune suppression and developmental harm.
One Pace University professor says the challenge right now is figuring out how to manage the chemicals and protect people from them.
The Environmental Protection Agency set some limits on PFAS last year.
"My understanding is that regulation was a proposed regulation that has been paused," says Katrina Fischer Kuh, a Haub Distinguished Professor of Environmental Law at Pace University. "Don't panic and part of the reason for that is it's possible that there still could be a reconsideration."
