Stamford-based nonprofit shares the work done to aid Ukraine, three years since war began

AmeriCares reports that in that time seven million people have fled Ukraine and migrated west, causing impacts on its health care system.
"There's a limitation by how many doctors and nurses can see patients every day - coupled by the fact that there are limited medicines and medical supplies,” said AmeriCares Deputy SVP of Emergency Programs, Provash Budden.
The Stamford based nonprofit has worked with partners overseas providing nearly $150 million in medicines and medical supplies.
"We want to make sure Ukrainians are able to access the right type of medicines and healthcare services and so we continue providing support from generous donors,” said Budden.
He says even if the end of the war were near it would take years to recover from the effects.
"Hospitals that need infrastructure repair, there's doctors and nurses that need to get paid, medicines and medical supplies that need to be stocked up,” said Budden.
