A movie that was rumored to be by Steven Spielberg was seen filming near a White Plains gas station on Wednesday.

Local business owners near the film site say they were not made aware of the shoot, which shut down a portion of Hamilton Avenue in White Plains.

Debra O'Shea, of Mary Jane Denzer, says she received a flyer of the filming from a neighboring business.

Due to the road closures, she says many of her clients, and herself included, had difficulty accessing the store.

On Tuesday evening, White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach said the following about traffic in the Hamilton Avenue area:

"There will be no road closures Thursday, February 27 due to inclement weather. However, the area will be closed on Friday, February 28, below are the details of the road closure:

• Hamilton Ave. will be closed from N. Broadway to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. from 10 am-6 pm.

• EJ Conroy Dr. will be closed from Main St. to Hamilton Ave.

• There will be intermittent traffic control from Church St. through Barker Ave, as well as Renaissance Square through Cottage Pl.

• Hamilton Main Garage may be accessed on Church St. and parkers may exit on EJ Conroy Dr. onto Main St."

Roach says there are benefits to films being done in the city.

"We've had many homes rented for films, we've had shops receive payments for use of the space, but also for impact on the space during production, so that's something we're focused on always look for ways to bring resources to our businesses and residents," said Mayor Roach.

Mayor Roach added that he was not aware of any business owners being affected.
