Westchester County police are asking for the public's help identifying people who are accused of vandalizing and burglarizing Playland Park in Rye last month.

Police said the three people pulled up to Playland Beach on a small boat and then climbed a fence to get into the park.

Once they were inside, police said they vandalized an electrical room; tried, but failed, to throw a photobooth off the boardwalk; and left with 200 stolen stuffed animals in garbage bags.

Resident Helena Duffy said the alleged actions were strange.

"I guess when you break in somewhere though, after you've gone through the trouble, you're just going to grab whatever," Duffy said.

County Executive Ken Jenkins said the crimes "have consequences, and those who are responsible will be held accountable."

"[It's] very disturbing, it's so close to where I live, so very upsetting," resident Andrea Weld said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about this incident is asked to give the police a call.
