Choice of New Rochelle expands one of its food pantries amidst lapse in SNAP food benefits

News 12 visited the Choice of New Rochelle's White Plains' location on Wednesday to see its new and improved food pantry and clothing closet for families in need.
The facility, located at 200 E Post Road in White Plains, increased its storage capacity, added a larger selection of food staples, new refrigeration units and more.
This location also has a clothing closet stocked with shoes, pants, and other clothing essentials.
Chief Operating Officer Lynn Kolb with the nonprofit says in her 30 years, she believes this is the hardest hit time she's seen, regarding the vast need in the community for basic necessities.
"We have increased our food orders by...we've tripled them. We were getting about 2 tons, and now we're up to about 6 tons that we are getting weekly," said Kolb.
