Westchester County police say a man died after he was found unconscious at a laundromat in Mount Kisco Tuesday night.

Westchester County police say they found the man unresponsive at an E. Main Street laundromat after they were asked to do a welfare check.

Despite responders performing CPR, police say the man was pronounced dead after he was taken to the hospital.

The news shocked Lupe Flores. He works at Gerardo's Pizzeria next door to the laundromat.

"We don't want people to die, especially right next to us," Flores says.

Police say an autopsy will be done to determine how the man died.

They say they watched hours of video footage and found no evidence of assault or altercation.

Police say medical responders reported no signs of trauma to this man's body, either.

Tony Delcid works at Pan America Bakery, which is also next to the laundromat.

He said the news came as surprise for him and his employees, too.

"You hear somebody dies. It's sad," Delcid says.

Police haven't released the identity of the man yet or information about where he lived.

Delcid says many shops in the area have been helping more homeless people recently.

"Well, particularly, now. I know that they're cold, and they'd rather be around here," Delcid says.

News 12 reached out to village officials for comment, but have not heard back yet.
