Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man they say is behind a series of robberies across New York City, including two in Brooklyn.

Investigators have identified the man as 33-year-old Gustavo DeJesus Torres.

Police say the incidents happened over several days in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx.

The most recent incident happened at a Chase Bank on Tuesday in the Bronx.

In each case, investigators say Torres walked into a business and handed a note demanding money.

Two of those incidents happened in Brooklyn on March 14.

Police say he first went into a location on Fulton Street in downtown Brooklyn around 11:20 a.m., but did not get any money.

Less than an hour later, investigators say he went to a bank on Nostrand Avenue in Flatbush, where he got away with about $265.

Police say Torres is also linked to four other incidents across the city. In some cases, he got cash — including as little as $20 — and in others, he left empty-handed.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies.

Officials say all the robberies happened during the daytime. Yvette Richardson says it's unsettling.

"I think that crooks are getting more and more brazen," said Richardson.

News 12 crews saw a detective walking out of the Chase Bank on Fulton Street Wednesday evening, as well as security inside.

Surveillance images released by police show Torres inside locations and also entering a subway station.

Anyone who recognizes him or has information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
