Storms tonight follow the warm and muggy air to drop temperatures into tomorrow.

Storms are not expected to be severe, but will carry a lot of lightning due to the high humidity after 7PM.

Another warm and muggy day is expected with highs that reach nearly 80 degrees. Part of the state's temperatures will be split with highs in the mid-70s in northern NJ along I-80 due to a lingering weather front. That front slowly dips southward and drops temperatures into the evening. Thunderstorms will arrive after 7PM to continue this process of cooling temperatures overnight into Thursday. These thunderstorms will not be severe enough to cause widespread damage, but lightning is going to be an enhanced hazard as a result of the high humidity.

Temperatures crash to near 41 degrees by tomorrow morning. It's cold. The temperatures only rebound to the upper 40s by the afternoon under an overcast sky. The cool and clammy air abruptly retreats into Friday as highs return back to the 70s and even 80s in some spots. The weekend is fair, muggy, and warm with mostly sunny conditions.

Another round of thunderstorms will return on Sunday to ring out the moisture and warm temperatures for early next week.
