Police are searching for a pair of suspects involved in a violent, unprovoked stabbing that occurred early Wednesday evening in East Orange.

The incident took place around 6:40 p.m. on April 15, 2026. Units were dispatched to the intersection of Renshaw Avenue and North Clinton Street, where they found a 24-year-old man suffering from multiple cuts to his torso.

According to the victim's account, he was walking near Prospect Street and Renshaw Avenue when a newer model Range Rover SUV pulled up beside him. A male passenger inside the vehicle began shouting obscenities at the victim.

Moments later, a female driver exited the SUV, approached the man, and began stabbing him without warning. Both suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle.

The victim was rushed to the hospital. Medical staff treated him for injuries to the abdomen, which have been described as non-life-threatening.

The suspects remain unidentified, and the East Orange Police Department has not yet released a more detailed description of the attackers. The motive for the encounter remains unclear as investigators continue to process evidence from the area.
