A Cheshire High School senior arrested by ICE agents was released from custody Tuesday, according to online detention records.

Rihan, 18, posted bond just one day after a hearing where an immigration judge granted him a $1,500 bond, his lawyers told News 12.

He has been held at an ICE detention center in Massachusetts for the last two weeks.

The teen was arrested by agents earlier this month after he left his house with an uncle and his brother. Rihan came to the U.S. legally in 2024 under humanitarian parole. Agents claimed his parole had expired – citing erroneous online immigration paperwork, according to a federal judge.

At Monday’s hearing, the judge denied Rihan’s request to immediately reinstate his immigration status.

Last year, ICE held the teen's father for 3 months.

News 12 Connecticut is not revealing the teen's last name due to safety threats against his family overseas.
