Teen arrested in Montgomery Township on child exploitation charges after cyber tip

A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Montgomery Township after New Jersey State Police executed a search warrant tied to a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, authorities said.

Police said detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit carried out the warrant March 17 at a home on Addison Avenue in Somerset County.

The teen was charged with distribution of child sexual exploitation and abuse material, possession of child sexual exploitation and abuse material and cyber harassment, according to state police.

Authorities said the suspect was transported to the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was lodged pending a detention hearing.
