16-year-old boy fatally shot in East New York

A 16-year-old boy died after being shot twice in East New York on Friday, according to police.

Police responded just after 4:15 p.m. at 909 Livonia Ave. near the New Lots Avenue subway station entrance.

Upon arrival, they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his torso and groin.

He was transported to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Police have now identified Marquise Byfield as the victim.

No arrests have been made as of Saturday morning.
