An Essex man is facing an electronic stalking charge for allegedly putting a tracking device in a vehicle's wheel well in Norwalk, police say.

On April 16, police received a report that the device was discovered on a vehicle.

It's not clear who the car belonged to or why a device was placed in the vehicle.

Following an investigation, police identified Thomas Martin as a suspect. Martin was taken into custody on Friday.

He was charged with electronic stalking.

Martin appeared in court Monday.
