Mother’s Day in Yorktown began with movement, as hundreds of runners and walkers gathered at FDR Park for a long-standing tradition celebrating moms.
The Taconic Road Runners Club hosted its annual Mother’s Day 5K on Sunday, welcoming women of all ages for a 5K race or a two-mile walk.
The event has been a staple in the community for decades, offering a chance for women and those who love them to start the holiday on a healthy and uplifting note.
After crossing the finish line, participants and their families gathered for food, refreshments, and an awards ceremony.
The annual 5K continues to be a signature way for the community to come together, combining fitness, family, and celebration into one memorable Mother’s Day tradition.
