President Trump, who last spoke at the Coast Guard Academy in 2017, is set to deliver the keynote address Wednesday.

He's expected to congratulate about 260 cadets on their hard work and dedication.

There is a protest planned nearby at McKinley Park at 9 a.m. by the grassroots movement Indivisible.

Members say it is expected to be a nonviolent, non-confrontational protest.

New London police say the park will be open to the public, but there are several parking restrictions in the area.

People will not be allowed to gather near the main gate of the academy.

Commencement exercises begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning and are not open to the public.

News 12 Connecticut's John Craven will be covering the graduation.

Last year's keynote speaker was then-Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

News 12 will cover the president's speech live.
