A man and a woman were injured when shots were fired early Thursday morning in Bed-Stuy.
Police responded to a call of shots fired just before 4 a.m. in front of 721 Willoughby Ave.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 19-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her right shoulder and a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right arm.
Both victims were taken to Woodhull Hospital and are expected to be OK.
Police say the lobby door was damaged in the shooting.
There are no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
With Memorial Day just days away and the summer season around the corner, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch outlined their plan to keep crime numbers down as temperatures rise.
“We are increasing uniformed officer presence in some of the highest crime parts of the city at some of the highest crime parts of the day. More than 2,600 uniformed officers will walk the beat in 72 zones across the five boroughs at night and in the early morning, times when we know violence tends to spike,” Mayor Mamdani said on Wednesday.
