Good Samaritans are being praised for saving the life of a 9-year-old girl who almost drowned Sunday afternoon at a private residence, the Putnam Sheriff’s Office says.
The incident happened at a home on Cameo Court in the town of Southeast.
The girl was in the pool with other children when she started to drown, police say.
Several people at the party got her out of the water and started to perform CPR.
By that time, EMS personnel and law enforcement agencies were arriving at the scene.
The girl was taken to Danbury Hospital where at last report she appeared to be doing well, the sheriff’s office says.
