A juvenile is in the hospital after a stabbing in Rockland County over the weekend, according to Ramapo police.
Police say two minors were stabbed Sunday at a home on Campbell Avenue in Airmont. Both were taken to the hospital. One was released, while the other remains in serious condition.
Authorities say one arrest has been made. The person arrested is also under the age of 18. Police say additional arrests are possible as the investigation continues. Child Protective Services has been notified.
A man who lives nearby said the incident was unsettling for an area known to be quiet.
“I think it's horrible. I've been living here 26 years, and it's never been like that. It's been a very quiet neighborhood,” the neighbor said.
He and other residents News 12 heard from off camera also raised concerns about the number of vehicles frequently parked at the home, questioning whether overcrowding may be an issue.
“When I see a house that got nine [or] 10 taxi cabs, parking there. Something's wrong. I don't know,” he said.
Because all individuals involved are minors, authorities are not releasing any identities. Police did say that everyone involved knew one another.
There have been several stabbings reported across Rockland County a little over the past week, including incidents and arrests in Spring Valley, Clarkstown and Orangetown.
None of the incidents have been fatal.
