The Westchester County Police Benevolent Association held a press conference on Tuesday after a county police officer was charged with DWI following a motorcycle crash that killed his younger brother.
PBA officials said that they support Westchester County Police Officer Michael Kilduff and his family during this tragic time.
Authorities say 33-year-old Michael Kilduff, of Pawling, was riding with his brother and a group of others Sunday night on State Route 9 in the town of Lake George when they were involved in a crash.
Officials say 31-year-old Brian Kilduff, of Brewster, died at the scene.
Authorities say Michael Kilduff appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested on DWI charges. Investigators have not said what caused the crash or who may be responsible.
Westchester County Police say Michael Kilduff has been placed on modified duty and will be assigned to non-enforcement duties when he returns to work.
He had been serving as the school resource officer at Pequenakonck Elementary School in North Salem. Another officer will be assigned to finish out the school year.
The PBA says they will continue to stand with Michael Kilduff during this time.
The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated. It has not yet been determined who is responsible.
