Lowered air quality as temps climb to very warm levels
Humidity will gradually be on the rise into the weekend. Storm chances will do the same for Saturday.

It will be a warmer day all across the Hudson Valley today as temps climb well above average. The normal high is 75 degrees, and we'll find many spots trending about 15 degrees warmer than that. Along the way with the warmth will be some humidity rising. Thankfully, the rain and storm potential won't do the same today but will for the weekend ahead. We'll have to worry about lowered air quality today, and an air quality alert is in effect for Rockland and Westchester Counties through much of the day today. Try to limit overexerting yourself, especially during the afternoon hours when the heat will peak.
There is a threat of strong to severe thunderstorms across the entire Hudson Valley tomorrow. A 2 out of 5 on our threat scale is up for much of the region as a SLIGHT risk of severe weather will move through after 5/6 p.m. Any storms that form could producing damaging wind gusts and some hail. Before the storms arrive, there will be a muggy feeling in the air and temps will climb into the 90s.
Sunday is trending to be a drier, more stable day, with lowered temps. They will still be above average but not as warm as today nor Saturday. A stray shower or storm can't be ruled out, but that chance will be running low.
Early next week, it will be rather nice and pleasant with temps near normal levels.
