Community members and volunteers teamed up Thursday at New Rochelle's George Davis Elementary School to build a brand new, all-inclusive and accessible playground in one day.

The district worked in collaboration with KABOOM! and Morgan Stanley to unveil the new kid-designed, accessible playground.

Around 170 volunteers participated in the project, which took around five hours.

Principal Anthony Bambrola says it was largely designed by kids within the elementary school.

"They drew up specs, they designed every element of it, and they specifically designed this playground to be made for an inclusive population. There are sensory elements built in. Everything about this playground is designed to make sure there's an entry point for every kid that goes to school here, and in this community," said Principal Anthony Bambrola with the George Davis Elementary School.

In Westchester County, this is KABOOM! and Morgan Stanley's fourth build, including one at Family Services of Westchester, Yonkers Public School 9 and the Abott House in Irvington.

KABOOM!'s mission is to provide safe playspaces for kids throughout the nation.
