A man is now set to spend 12 years behind bars for stabbing a woman several times in Dutchess County.
The district attorney says Dejahn Ruffin pleaded guilty to assault, attempted assault, and aggravated criminal contempt.
Prosecutors say he attacked the woman while he was sitting in her car in Poughkeepsie last October. An order of protection was already in place.
Ruffin’s sentences of 12 and 7 years are set to run concurrently. He will also have 5 years of supervision once he gets out of prison.
