There is new information in the case of a New Rochelle boy who has been missing for more than a year.

News 12 has learned that the father of 12-year-old King Richards has been arrested.

The information was confirmed by police and the child’s mother, who says her son is still missing.

Police say King was taken by his father, Dwight Richards Sr., during a custodial situation last March.

Family members have continued searching for answers, recently handing out flyers in hopes of gaining more information.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the arrest or the ongoing search.

New Rochelle Police say it cannot comment because the matter is under active investigation and any public comments may hinder the case.
