WHAT TO KNOW

Any lingering showers Tuesday evening will quickly come to an end as cooler, drier air moves into the Hudson Valley. Wednesday and Thursday will feature plenty of sunshine, comfortable humidity and pleasant summer temperatures.

A more active weather pattern develops beginning Thursday night as several disturbances move through the Northeast. Periods of showers and thunderstorms are possible through Saturday. While it won't rain continuously, outdoor plans may be interrupted at times, especially Thursday night and Friday. Sunshine and warmer temperatures make a welcome return by Sunday and continue into early next week.

Hudson Valley Forecast

Overnight:
A few lingering showers are possible early Tuesday evening before skies gradually clear overnight. Temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to around 60, with comfortable humidity. Any brief downpours early this evening could leave a few wet roads, but conditions improve quickly for the remainder of the night.

Wednesday:
Sunny, warm and very pleasant with afternoon temperatures climbing into the low 80s. Low humidity and a light breeze will make this an excellent day for outdoor activities, hiking, golf, or simply enjoying the sunshine. You'll likely only need light clothing, along with sunscreen if spending extended time outdoors.

Wednesday Night:
Mostly clear and comfortable, with overnight temperatures dipping into the upper 50s to low 60s. Another excellent night for sleeping with the windows open.

Thursday:
Mostly sunny and seasonably warm, with temperatures around 80. Humidity begins to increase during the afternoon, but much of the daylight hours should remain dry. It's another good day for outdoor plans, although you'll want to keep an eye on the forecast if you'll be out Thursday evening.

Thursday Night:
Clouds increase with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely overnight, especially after midnight. Temperatures remain mild in the low to mid-60s. Some storms could produce locally heavy rainfall, so if you're traveling late at night or early Friday morning, be prepared for wet roads and reduced visibility.

Friday:
Mostly cloudy with periods of showers and scattered thunderstorms, especially during the morning and again later in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach around 80 degrees. While there will be dry breaks, it won't be the best day for extended outdoor activities. Keep rain gear handy and be prepared to move indoors if thunderstorms develop.

Saturday:
Mostly cloudy, with additional showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Afternoon temperatures remain in the upper 70s to around 80. This won't be an all-day rain event, but several rounds of showers could interrupt outdoor plans. Check the latest News 12 Storm Watch Team forecast before heading out.

Sunday:
Mostly sunny, warmer and noticeably more pleasant, with temperatures climbing into the mid-80s. Humidity remains manageable, making for an excellent day to enjoy parks, hiking trails, outdoor dining and other weekend activities.

Monday:
Mostly sunny and warm, with afternoon temperatures reaching the mid-80s. Dry weather continues with comfortable summer conditions, making for another great day to be outdoors across the Hudson Valley.
