A Rockland County taxi driver has been sentenced to six years in prison for strangling a passenger during a ride last year.
Kevin Mazariego Figueroa, 23, picked up a woman in Monsey before stopping in Spring Valley, prosecutors said.
Investigators said Figueroa strangled the victim during the encounter.
The woman broke free and called for help while Figueroa drove away.
Police later found Figueroa in Ramapo.
The victim suffered bite marks, skin wounds and swelling, prosecutors said.
