Cleanup efforts continue after a powerful storm tore through Westchester County this weekend.
"That tree actually came from across the road, spanned over the road and just looks like it knocked off the cap off the chimney and a little roof damage. Not a good situation, but it could always be worse," says John Winter.
The tree fell on Upper Lake Shore Drive in the Lake Katonah area.
It's in the same neighborhood where Winter lives. He's the highway superintendent for the Town of Lewisboro.
"We were waiting for the fireworks here in Lake Katonah and it got windy, scary and rainy," Winter tells News 12.
Those powerful storms came through the area over the Fourth of July weekend.
"Trees bending down, branches in the road," says Tom, who lives in Somers.
Crews from all over Westchester have been working on getting things cleaned up since. Officials tell News 12 that a lot of progress was made during the weekend.
Power outages are still being reported. Officials urge everyone to stay away from any downed wires.
