A former correctional officer from Orange County is facing federal charges accusing him of sexually abusing an inmate.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Kyle Brown, of Newburgh, sexually abused an inmate while working at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville.
According to court documents, the abuse allegedly occurred on three separate occasions.
Federal authorities say Brown worked at the prison for about two years.
Brown was arrested Wednesday and is now facing federal sex abuse charges.
Officials have not released additional details about the inmate involved.
The case is being prosecuted in federal court.
