Wrong-way driver arrested after police find LSD, vodka and more during traffic stop
Police said the traffic stop led to the discovery of about 40 LSD tabs, a digital scale, a large psilocybin mushroom, two glass pipes containing suspected controlled substance residue and an open bottle of vodka.

A 29-year-old Tallman man was arrested Thursday after Ramapo police said they observed a Tesla allegedly commit multiple traffic violations on Route 59.
According to police, the driver used a left-turn-only lane to pass a line of stopped vehicles. When the traffic signal turned green, police allege he drove into oncoming traffic before swerving back into the proper lane, forcing other motorists to stop to avoid a collision.
An officer stopped the vehicle and, during the investigation, allegedly observed several prescription pill bottles in the center console, police said. Authorities say the driver attempted to conceal one of the bottles and later admitted to sharing prescription medication with another person.

The man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hallucinogen and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued three traffic summonses related to the stop.
In a news release, Ramapo police said the incident exemplifies what the department means by "looking beyond the car stop."
