A shooting investigation ended with the arrest of 13-year-old suspect in Newburgh, according to police.
Investigators say they responded to a report of gunfire near Liberty and South streets around 3:14 p.m. on July 8.
Upon arrival, officers found evidence that a semi-automatic firearm had been shot. No injuries were reported.
Detectives later identified the young suspect and located him near South and Chambers streets the night of July 23.
The charges against him include criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
The City of Newburgh Police Department says they will not release additional identifying information due to the suspect’s age.
