'He didn’t deserve what he got.' Medford community holds candlelight vigil for man who was fatally stabbed

The Medford community held a candlelight vigil Saturday night for a man who police say was fatally stabbed.
More than 60 people showed up to celebrate the life of Timothy Stark, a man who was loved by many in the community.
“It shows how many people cared about him,” said Gianna Biondi, who organized the event. “I've heard the community fed him, gave him clothing. And it gave him a reason to keep going. Medford was the foundation.”
Authorities say Stark was stabbed in the back during an altercation in Medford on Monday.
He later died at the hospital.
Police arrested Joseph Norton for the incident a short time after the stabbing.
The community says it’s tragic.
“I cried,” said one community member who works at a deli that Stark would frequently visit. “Honestly he didn’t deserve what he got. I still cry.”
Many people shared stories about how they felt like Stark protected them, made them smile and was always ready to say hello.
They said it proves that every member of the community has an impact, no matter what their story is.
A memorial service for Stark will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Medford on Aug. 1 at 12 p.m.
