Briarcliff Manor spa erupts in flames

Crews rushed to the scene of a fire early Wednesday morning in Briarcliff Manor.
It happened at the Bella Maiya Day Spa on Pleasantville Road.
Briarcliff Manor Fire Department Chief Arie Uyterlinde says crews were dispatched at 5:34 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about the blaze.
Upon arrival, they found the south half of the building largely engulfed.
Four different departments ended up working together to control the flames.
The main body of fire was knocked down within 20 to 25 minutes, according to Uyterlinde.
Firefighters remained at the scene to scope for hotspots and areas of continued concern for the following hour.
The building was empty at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
