An early morning law enforcement operation Wednesday on Malmros Terrace in the Town of Poughkeepsie has been confirmed as part of an FBI investigation.

A nearby resident who shared photos with News 12 says they were awakened around 6 a.m. by loudspeaker announcements identifying the FBI and ordering people inside the home to come out with their hands up. The resident also says they saw children leave the residence with their hands raised during the operation.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies assisted with the law enforcement action but said it was an FBI investigation.

So far, the FBI has not released any information about the nature of the investigation or whether anyone was taken into custody.
