Residents question FedEx deliveries from Montgomery hub after package pileup, lost medication shipment
A Monticello community manager says dozens of packages were left at a communal mailbox, while another resident says a delayed delivery of her daughter’s seizure medication raised serious concerns.

Residents at Kinnebrook Estates are raising concerns about FedEx deliveries they say came from the company’s Montgomery hub after packages were left at the community’s mailbox area instead of being delivered to individual homes last week.
Community manager Jennifer Waldron says she found about 30 packages from retailers including Target, Walmart and other companies left at the community mailbox area.
“There’s no rhyme or reason to it. Everything from Target, Walmart, all kinds of different suppliers,” Waldron said.
Waldron says she gathered the packages, brought them into the community office and got a hold of residents so they could pick them up.
“This one says, ‘Open immediately.’ I’m hoping that’s not something that needs refrigeration,” Waldron said while sorting through packages that still had not been picked up by their intended recipients.
“Somebody could’ve had a spree and I couldn’t let our residents go through that,” Waldron said.
The package pileup happened just days after another resident, Yvonne Thorburn, says a shipment containing her 12-year-old daughter’s seizure medication never arrived.
Thorburn says the package was marked as having a “bad address,” despite providing News 12 with tracking records she says show FedEx delivered other packages to her home before and after the medication was supposed to arrive.
She and her neighbors say the incidents unfolded over the course of several days, beginning with the missed medication delivery and ending with packages being left at the community mailbox area.
Thorburn says an emergency replacement shipment was later delivered, but the original package has never been found.
“We’ve reached out to FedEx. Everyone who’s gotten packages reached out to FedEx and haven’t really gotten much of an official response,” Waldron said.
Waldron says a different FedEx driver later told her the driver involved had been terminated. She says she still has not received a formal response from FedEx addressing residents’ concerns.
News 12 has also reached out to FedEx several times about the incidents and the company’s delivery protocols for communities like Kinnebrook Estates, but has not heard back.
