The medical examiner has ruled the death of a 40-year-old woman found in a Bensonhurst apartment on Saturday a homicide.

The medical examiner's office determined the cause of her death as “homicidal violence, including blunt force trauma of head and torso."

Officers found the woman unconscious and unresponsive inside 1644 64th St. shortly before 4 a.m. last Saturday.

The woman, later identified as Erika Mranda Tlacuatl, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One neighbor told News 12 he heard repeated banging on a door that night. He said he then heard one last bang, followed by a man cursing someone out.

Police are still investigating.
